McReary-Time Reary is a spell that rewinds time by a few seconds to give wizards a chance to correct a dire mistake. It is mentioned that the spell should only be used in emergencies because it's dangerous since it bends time and space and is known to cause a disturbance in the space/time continuum. Only people in the magical world remember time was rewound, while people in the regular world just have déjà vu.

History[]

Justin first uses the spell in "First Kiss" after their crystal ball is accidentally broken. Jerry instructs him on how to execute the spell, and mentions that it's often used to solve a mistake in the past. He tells all three kids to never use the spell, and not ask any questions.

Alex later uses the spell multiple times in order to help Justin get his perfect first kiss with his girlfriend. With each time she casts the spell, back at the Waverly Sub Station, she unknowingly ruins her family's chance of becoming the official sandwich of the New York Mets.

As revealed in Beware Wolf, this is Justin's favorite spell. This can be observed in his Wiz-Page, which he and Alex read.

Trivia[]

  • The McReary-Time Reary spell might have been named after Gigi McCreery, a consulting producer for the show.
  • Alongside Gilesjay Timesday, this is one of only two spells in the entire series that is time-related.
