Alfred (Andy Pessoa) is Max's best friend. He is known to be smarter than Max. He and Max started a water business in Smarty Pants, even a dog business to give away a puppy for money. He appeared once again in Beware Wolf when he and Max wanted to buy cups on a chain. When Alex said to Max that Justin was dating a "dog", Alfred was right there and he didn't seem to think anything was wrong, which possibly hints that he knows of wizardry.
